ScriptM8 (“we”, “us” or “our”) is an acting rehearsal application designed to help actors learn scripts, practise lines, work with voice-based rehearsal tools and prepare self-tapes.
We take privacy seriously. This policy explains what information may be collected when you use ScriptM8, how it is used, which service providers may process it, how long it is retained and how you can exercise your privacy rights.
By using ScriptM8, you acknowledge that your information will be handled as described in this policy.
ScriptM8 is the service responsible for the personal information processed through the application.

Please contact us using this email address if you have questions about this policy, want to exercise your privacy rights or wish to request deletion of your information.
The information processed depends on which ScriptM8 features you use and whether you create an account.
If you register or sign in, we may process information such as:
If you sign in using Google or Apple, those providers may process information under their own privacy policies. We receive the information made available to us through the selected authentication method.
When you import, create, save or rehearse a script, ScriptM8 may process:
Scripts may contain personal information if you choose to include it. Please only upload material you are entitled to use and avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information.
If you use voice-generation or rehearsal features, we may process the text required to generate spoken dialogue, voice selections and related generation information.
ScriptM8 uses third-party voice-generation services, including ElevenLabs, for relevant features. Text and technical information required for a generation request may be sent to the applicable provider. That provider processes the information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Your use of a voice feature may therefore involve processing outside ScriptM8’s own systems.
If you use self-tape or recording features, the application may access your camera and microphone after you grant permission.
Video and audio recordings may be created and saved to your device or exported to your device’s media library. Server-side rehearsal recordings or associated metadata may also be processed where the relevant feature supports this.
We do not claim that all recordings are uploaded to our servers. The handling of a particular recording depends on the feature you use and where that feature stores the resulting data.
ScriptM8 offers paid subscription features. Subscription services may process:
We use RevenueCat to help manage and verify subscription entitlements. Purchases made through Google Play or Apple’s App Store are also subject to the applicable store’s privacy policy and terms.
We do not need your full payment card details to verify your ScriptM8 subscription.
To operate, maintain and troubleshoot the application, we may process technical information such as:
Some diagnostic information may be processed by third-party monitoring services, such as Sentry, where enabled.
We use information for the following purposes:
We do not use your script content for unrelated purposes merely because you upload it to ScriptM8.
Where the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) applies, we rely on one or more of these legal bases, as appropriate:
Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent where applicable. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful.
ScriptM8 may request access to device features when you use functions that need them.
You can manage permissions through your device settings. Denying a permission may prevent the associated feature from working.
PDF imports use the relevant document-selection functionality, allowing you to choose a document rather than granting unrestricted access to your files.
ScriptM8 may rely on service providers to operate its features. Depending on your use of the application, these may include:
These providers may process information necessary to deliver their services. Their own privacy notices explain their independent processing practices.
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
We share information only where necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including:
We do not make your scripts publicly available simply because you store them in ScriptM8. You remain responsible for choosing whether and with whom to share any material you export or distribute.
